Numerous hiking tours, vie ferrate, mountain peaks and traditional mountain huts are waiting to be explored. The Three Peaks in the Dolomites are known as a hiking paradise for families but also for experienced hikers. A lot of tours start at our house - without using your car:
- for example the "Karnischer Höhenweg" into to the neighbouringn Austria and the way back to your accomodation Apartment Sulzenbacher by using the public transport (bus or train - to the station in Versciaco).
- … to the "Malga San Silvestro", the San Silvestro Chapel, the "Marchkinkele"
By bicycle to Lienz in Austria on the known Drau Cycling Path or to Brunico on the Pusteria Cycling Path – and return by train. We suggest the Stoneman-Trail for trained mountainbikers (www.stoneman.com) as well as the route of the Dolomiti Superbike (www.dolomitisuperbike.com) running through the village Versciaco.
Every season has its own character and turns nature with enchanting colour games. The summer toboggan run Funbob on Monte Baranci in San Candido is a must for the whole family, the public swimming pool Acquafun (www.acquafun.com) is the perfect alternative activity for a rainy day. As our guests you get a reduced entrance per person and day.
Culture, shopping and pleasure offers the historical center of San Candido with its inviting pedestrian area and multiple shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.
In winter 93 km of perfectly prepared slopes for beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders are at your disposal in the Three Peaks/3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort. The popular Giro delle Tre Cime is an ideal day trip on skis, with start in Versciaco/Monte Elmo and through out the entire ski resort: Monte Elmo, Croda Rossa, Monte Croce until Padola (Comelico Superiore) with a wide range of traditional ski huts to stop. The Skibus brings you back from Padola to Sesto, where you can return to Versciaco on skies from Monte Elmo.
Also cross-country skiers are welcome in Alta Pusteria Valley! The Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco with FIS-homologised slopes and cross-country ski trails in untouched nature (with a sufficient amount of snow also in Versciaco) offer the right for every taste.
Adopt the pace of nature.
Her secret is patience.
